Meet Gwen. Gwen is the owner of two small businesses, one is a matchmaking service for female entrepreneur's, and the other is a business she owns with her mother, that sells art plans to elementary schools, both here and one in Columbia!
When I asked her to write down her dream, she said that she knew what it was but didn't want to write it down. Not because she didn't want it, but because she was embarrassed for me to here it. Mind you, I have never met this girl and she has never met me. Why are people so embarressed to admit their dreams? I encouraged her to move forward and write it down.
Her dream wasn't even for herself. It is for her mother, who is currently terminally ill. Her mom, since she was a little girl, has dreamed of wanting her own plane. Her mom dreamed someday she would have a private jet. While purchasing a private jet might not be in her budget, Gwen can do something else. She has found a small and old plane for sale that she is saving to buy to make her mom's dream come true during her last days.

What I learned from Gwen, is that the reason many entrepreneur's create businesses as a mechanism to achieve something else. Gwen loves her company, but her true motivation everyday is to be able to have the ability to make her moms dream a reality.
